A United Airlines plane at Boston Logan International Airport collided with a parked Delta Air Lines aircraft over the weekend, as revealed by airport officials. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) stated that the incident took place around 7:20 p.m. local time on Friday, according to the New York Post.

During taxiing to a holding pad, United Flight 369, a Boeing 737, accidentally struck the tail of Delta Flight 1657, an Airbus A321. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the collision. A United spokesperson confirmed that all passengers affected by the incident safely disembarked at the gate and were promptly rebooked on alternate flights.

These are bad news for our ground transportation industry. Reduced footfall because of flight cancellations and negative incidents can cause serious business downfall. Boston Airport Express wishes all passengers a safe flight and prays for the good health of the passengers of the two above-mentioned flights.

As a result of the incident, several flights experienced temporary delays in taking off, while others had to circle around in the air until airport police and emergency services arrived at the scene. One of the regular customer’s colleagues who was traveling from New York to Boston by car with us on Friday was affected by this incident.

A United spokesperson stated, “On Friday evening, a United aircraft’s winglet made contact with the tail of another aircraft at Boston Logan International Airport. Passengers on the United aircraft safely disembarked at the gate, and we are arranging alternative flights for them.”

A spokesperson from Delta mentioned, “While there have been no reported injuries to our passengers or crew on Delta flight 1657, the aircraft made contact with another aircraft while awaiting clearance for takeoff at the Logan Airfield. Delta teams are actively working to ensure that customers reach their final destinations tonight, and we apologize for the delay.”
