Boston to show support for India on 75 Years of Independence

This would be the first time in American history when a grand parade featuring supporters from 32 countries will show their support for India’s> 75 years of Independence celebration. Named Azadi ka Amirt Mahotsav, this celebration marks the success of the world’s largest democracy and as a strong supporter of democratic process, the US has decided to solidify the bonding with India.

Events planned for the 2-day celebration

1. ‘India Day’ will be observed at India Street in Boston on August 15. The 75th Independence Day has been proclaimed as ‘India Day’ by Massachusetts Governor, Charlie Baker.
2. Flag hoisting at Boston Harbor
3. FIA New England will host India-USA Freedom Gallery across India Street
4. A colorful parade will be organized showcasing the diversity of India. It will be led by veterans and will include many attractive floats.
5. An airplane carrying a 220-feet US-India flag will fly over Boston.
