This Mother's Day weekend, travelers can take advantage of discounted international airfare and a chance to win a year's worth of free flights with low-cost airline PLAY.
PLAY initiated a 25 percent off sale on Wednesday, running through May 15. Concurrently, the airline announced a giveaway ending on May 12, offering one lucky traveler free PLAY flights for a year to over 40 destinations.
The sale covers trips between July and December from Boston to 10 destinations: Iceland, Amsterdam, Brussels, Copenhagen, Dublin, Gothenburg, Hamburg, London, Paris, and Stockholm.
"We are thrilled to celebrate our travelers and passengers with this exciting promotion," stated PLAY CEO Einar Örn Ólafsson. "This discount on our already budget-friendly flights allows travelers to explore more destinations this year, and they can also enter for a chance to enjoy free flights with us for an entire year."
PLAY offers flights from four major U.S. locations: Logan International Airport, Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, New York Stewart International Airport, and Dulles International Airport.
Discounted flights from New York are available for trips between June and December, while those from Boston, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C. are valid for travel between July and December.
According to the airline, the deal covers airfare only and does not include taxes, fees, additional services, and carrier charges. Restrictions and baggage fees apply.
The flight sale ends on May 15 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
Travelers can enter the giveaway by signing up for the airline’s newsletter by May 12 at 11:59 p.m. ET. One winner, designated as the airline’s “Tourist of the Year,” will be randomly drawn and notified by mail on May 16.
This news is expected to boost Boston taxi services, as increased travel from Logan International Airport to Europe with PLAY Airlines will likely drive higher demand for transportation to and from the airport.
