JetBlue again is the worst Airline in America, The Wall Street Journal declares.
How surprised are you that JetBlue has been ranked as the worst airline in America again this year? Perhaps many of you are, but at Boston Airport Express, we aren’t surprised at all. The airline has been struggling to keep its schedule and services in order since the summer outbreak of passengers.
Jet Blue is the largest airline at Boston Logan Airport, which also has had a very disappointing performance in The Wall Street Journal.
The journal uses seven factors to rank American airlines. The airlines are ranked based on seven factors: on-time arrivals, canceled flights, significant delays, two-hour tarmac delays, mishandled bags, being forced to move to a different flight, and complaints.

The publication’s airline scorecard placed JetBlue last. The airline received the same final ranking as the year prior.
The top spot went to Delta Air Lines for the second consecutive year. The Boston Airport Shuttle has also noticed the business and service progress of Delta Airlines.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the average percentage of flights canceled by major U.S. carriers in 2022 was 2.6%, up from 1.8% in 2021 and 2019.
The Wall Street Journal stated, “JetBlue won the title no airline wants — worst performing U.S. carrier” because it “reported relatively dismal numbers in practically every category.”
JetBlue came in eighth for flights that arrived on time and weren’t canceled and ninth for flights that were two hours late or had extreme delays. Involuntary bumping was the airline’s best category, where it placed fourth.
A JetBlue representative said, “For more than 20 years, JetBlue has been delivering a unique experience that passengers appreciate, including free Wi-Fi, the most legroom in coach, seatback entertainment, pleasant crewmembers, and everyday cheap rates.” Because of this, passengers routinely rank JetBlue as one of the top airlines.
“The Wall Street Journal rankings don’t show how the crowded conditions we fly in affect JetBlue more than other airlines,” the JetBlue representative said.
The airline reported having one of the highest completion rates during Christmas and New Year’s travel. It didn’t cancel a single flight during the Thanksgiving travel season, the busiest day recorded at the Boston Logan Airport.
