Charity Night at The Landing, March 18

The Marblehead Animal Shelter will benefit from the annual Charity Night at the Marblehead Landing restaurant on March 18. Also, there will be a silent auction that evening, and the restaurant will donate 20% of all food and beverage sales made in the dining area to the shelter.

Irish Music by Shalin Liu, March 5, 10, 15, 25

To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, take in some traditional and modern Irish music at Rockport’s Shalin Liu Performance Center. Irish folk musician Seamus Egan will perform on March 5 and Michael O’Leary and friends will do a concert and céili dance performance on March 10.

Irish traditional band Altan will be in town on March 25, and on March 15 Brian O’Donovan’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Celtic Sojourn in Rockport will feature Celtic music and dance performances from Ireland and other nations.

North Shore Music Theatre, March 9, 25

See a performance at Beverly’s North Shore Music Theatre in March. Shakespeare & Company will present Shakespeare’s well-known romantic tragedy Romeo and Juliet on September 9.

A family-friendly production of Curious George: The Golden Meatball, starring the charming protagonist of the well-loved books and PBS program, will be presented at the theater on March 25.

Salem film festival, 22 March-2 April

The 16th Salem Film Festival will take place there by the end of March and will include live and online documentary screenings, director Q&As, and special events.

The largest documentary festival in Massachusetts, which takes place in Salem, will employ a hybrid format this year and showcase certain films at the PEM, Cinema Salem, and The Cabot. A detailed schedule and this year’s program will be available on Salemfilmfest.com.

The Cabot, March 7, 23

One of the interesting events happening this month is Elvis Costello’s performance with the Imposters at the Cabot on March 7. Elvis Costello is a Grammy-winning British singer-songwriter and record producer.

The best music of the 20th century will be honored by Postmodern Jukebox when they appear in Beverly on March 23. They do this by fusing the past with the present and making the present feel like the past.

ART of Castle Hill, March 10-12, 16-19, 23-26

Three weekends in March will see the Tony Award-winning drama ART take place in Castle Hill. The Yasmina Reza-penned drama follows the friendship of three friends as one of them purchases an expensive piece of contemporary art.

The comedy explores the idea of value in both friendships and fine art and is presented in the Great House Ballroom. Tickets cost $35 for non-members and $28 for members.

It’s maple season at Appleton Farms, All Month

There is no better way to celebrate maple syrup season for the full month of March than by going to Appleton Farms to see the action. The farm in Hamilton and Ipswich pricks maple trees all throughout its grounds in March when the weather starts to warm up and the sap starts to flow up the tree trunks.

Every Saturday in March, the farm cooks up the wood-fired pizza oven for pizza on the farm. The farm store also offers tours, demonstrations, and goods created with maple syrup.

Boston Wine and Food Festival, March 2-30

The annual Boston Wine and Food Festival returns to the Boston Harbor Hotel this winter with an incredible lineup of wine dinners and unique events.

The Bond Estate Reserve dinner on March 30, the Châteauneuf-du-Pape seminar and dinner on March 24, and the Opus One “Impossible Pairings” seminar and dinner on March 2 are among the highlights for the month of March.

Danversport Bridal Show, March 29, 6-9 p.m.
