irlines Waive Fees Ahead of This Weekend’s Winter Storm

Airlines are allowing travelers flying into and out of Boston to change their itineraries ahead of a major winter storm expected to disrupt travel this weekend. The storm is forecast to impact the eastern two-thirds of the United States, according to the Associated Press. Local meteorologists say Massachusetts could see between 12 and 20 inches of snow.

“Based on the forecasted weather conditions, our scheduled service may be disrupted, with possible delays, diversions, or cancellations,” Southwest said in a travel advisory. Massport also issued a weather advisory ahead of the storm, noting: “Due to the forecasted winter storm this weekend, many airlines are waiving change fees. Travelers are advised to check with their airline for flight status before coming to the airport.”
